I am writer, arts worker and freelancer (literature and theatre) based in Edinburgh.
In 2026, my poem, ‘Selected Queer Joy as a Late Bloomer’, will be published in the Queerphoria anthology (Verve Books).
I have an MA in Creative Writing from Newcastle University (with a focus on playwriting and dramaturgy) and a BA(Hons) in English Studies from the University of Stirling.
I have over 10 years’ experience of working in writer development, supporting writers at all stages of their career through my role as Writing Communities Manager at Scottish Book Trust. I manage the New Writers Awards, the leading talent development programme in Scotland. I’ve previously worked as a Bookseller for Waterstones and a Front of House Assistant for the Royal Shakespeare Company. In 2019-20, I was the Board Pioneer for Stellar Quines Theatre Company. In 2022-23, I received the Next Level Award from Literature Alliance Scotland. I am also a Youth Work Volunteer with LGBT Youth Scotland.
My theatre work has been produced by Live Theatre (10 Minutes to…Break The Mould), Royal Shakespeare Company’s Open Stages Showcase and the Offbeat Festival. I am also an accredited Audio Describer, with credits for National Theatre of Scotland and the Edinburgh International Festival.
I’m passionate about supporting new voices, particularly those we don’t see represented on the page and stage from an LGBTQ+ and disabled perspective. Stories filled with messy heart, compelling characters and vivid voices that leave you feeling connected, empowered, and above all, changed in some way. And nothing makes me happier than reading about queer joy!
When I’m not reading, writing or watching theatre, you can usually find me at a gig or browsing my local independent bookshop or record shop. I also love the Brontë sisters (Anne is the best, obvs), playing the piano, swimming, drinking a lot of Earl Grey tea and hanging out with my cat, Agnes Grey.
